New Year – New Beginnings

Welcome to a brand new year, and maybe a brand new you.  January 1st of every year, people all over the world resolve to do something which will somehow improve the quality of their lives.  Most people it seems, in making these New Years resolutions break the promises they’ve made to themselves pretty quickly.  The inability for people to keep the promises they’ve made to themselves creates feelings of disappointment and lack in many instances, which leads to further disappointments throughout the year.

If this sounds like you, why not try something different this year, or take a different approach to making the changes you want to make in your life?  Instead of continuing the pattern of making and breaking resolutions, why not incorporate a plan to 1dd1empower yourself to make the changes you desire by the nonstop acquisition of faith?  This means faith in God, faith in your ideas and faith in yourself.

Having faith in God allows the Creative Energy and Power of God to work through you to do for you whatever you desire.  Having faith in your ideas gives rise to your faith in God, because it is the ideas you select and initiate through and by your personal freedom of choice, that directs this God Power in the way It will work through you.  Having faith in yourself is synonymous with having faith in God, because it is God individualized and living in you, through you and as you that has created you.  You are a beautiful, wonderful, unique manifestation of God, individualized in your own beautiful, wonderful, unique form.  Having faith in yourself is no less than having faith in God in you.

iamLet’s put this idea in more practical terms.  People make so many different resolutions every year that it is not feasible to try covering every possible change everyone may want to make; so, here are a couple of ideas based on the ones I’ve heard most.

I am going to lose weight, (to look better, improve my health, etc . . .).  Instead of starting a diet or exercise program that you probably won’t stick to, begin affirming to yourself ideas like; “I look good and feel good now,” “God knows what to do so that I  look and feel my best,” or I give thanks that I am my ideal weight and live in optimal health.”  Reminding yourself of these ideas consistently throughout the day will cause the Law of Cause and Effect to create the necessary changes for you to lose weight, look better and feel better.

I am going to quit smoking, (drinking or using drugs).  Instead of buying nicotine gum or the patch, or going to a hypnotist, tell yourself, “I am the authority in my life, I am in control of me, there is no habit or addiction that has power over me,” “There is One Power, that Power is God, It cannot be denied or defeated and there is nothing that has power over me,” or “Not by will power but by the Power that I am, I decide now to take control of what I do, and the Law works through me now to release me from cravings for cigarettes, (alcohol or drugs).

You can make and use affirmations that apply to any situation or circumstance you choose, trusting that once you have put a new idea in your mind strongly enough, God acting as the Law of Cause and Effect has to act on your new idea and create something newer, different or better for you, by acting in you, through you and as you.  Remember to check here every day for new affirmations and prayer treatments that you may find useful.

Happy New Year and continued Blessings of Love, Peace, Health, Abundance and Joy in 2009.

Inspired Affirmation of the Day – 01/01/09

I welcome this new year and this new day, thrilled and excited about the Infinite Potential in which I live, as I decide what the highest and the best is for me and consciously choose to experience it, allowing the Law to create it through me as I give It direction.

Inspired Quote of the Day – 01/01/09

“ . . . be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind . . .”

–The Bible

Inspired Prayer Treatment of the Day – 01/01/09

There is One Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent Spirit.  It is the One Life which I call God, is the Truth about me, and is my life now.  This One Infinite, Eternal and Immortal Mind has no beginning and no end.  It has always been, is now, and will always be.

I recognize this One as the Truth of my being as I usher in this new year.  I know that this One Power acts through me as I direct It by my thoughts, feelings and beliefs.  I see and experience the highest and the best in all areas of my life.  I am provided with perfect health, harmonious relationships, and abundant supply.  Any idea that I believed which seems opposed to the word I speak is dissipated now, because the Law turns my word to flesh, even as I speak it.  With the absolute conviction that my demonstration is complete, I release my word with a transformed mind and a grateful heart, and I say thank you God for acting in, through, as and by means of me now for the Law to make it so.  And so it is.

Love Your Neighbor

Well, I’m very excited! J  I just started my blog and in less than a week I got my first comment.  I don’t know how she wound up here, but Michelle, who blogs at http://handsfrozentothesword.com found her way to this site and wrote, “I like how Jesus put it when He said, ‘Love your neighbor as you love YOURSELF’,” in regards to my 3 part article, “Learning To Love Unconditionally.”

abcThis is a good teaching and I thank Michelle for pointing it out.  Loving everyone was a core component of Jesus’ teachings, and is paramount in the effort we must make to conceptualize the ideal of unconditional love within ourselves.  However, there are millions of people that admittedly don’t love themselves and don’t even know how to begin doing so.

So, many of us must learn to love ourselves unconditionally, even as we are learning to have and share love with everyone and everything in the same unconditional manner.  If you have found your way here and need help learning to love yourself, be sure to look at the “Affirmation” and “Treatment” pages, as well as the “Affirmation Archives” and “Treatment Archives” pages here.  All of the affirmations and treatments I’ve written for the blog so far, have been written to help us realize greater love in and for ourselves and the Universe of Good in which we live and move and have our being.

Inspired Affirmation of the Day – 12/30/08

I live in the Joy of Life, because I live my life to always express the Love of God through me to all.

Inspired Quote of the Day – 12/30/08

Live to love, and then you will delight to live.

–Warren Felt Evans

Inspired Prayer Treatment of the Day – 12/30/08

Spirit expresses and reveals Joy in all that It creates.  Life abounds in the Joy of this creative activity everywhere.  The Infinite, Limitless, Eternal Love of God continuously gives to all, provides for all, and prospers all.

I am an expression of this Spirit, and I love giving of myself as I am prospered and provided.  I receive abundantly the gifts of the Spirit, knowing that it is God’s good pleasure to give me the Kingdom, and it is my good pleasure to receive all that I can embody, embrace and share.  I live in gratitude and joy, ever thankful for all that I have, all that I give, and all that I receive.  I am abundantly prospered by my delight of living to give as I speak my word now, knowing that it is so. And so it is.

Learning To Love Unconditionally Part II

Part II of III: Changing Your Perception

1aa6If you feel that people can treat you poorly or can do wrong to you, you are perceiving life as being what you see in the world of conditions.  Once you develop a Spiritual view of life, you will see and experience good everywhere you look, because you will see and experience the Truth, that God is all there is – everywhere – at all times.  Because God is Good, once you see and experience God everywhere, you will see and experience Good everywhere.  You must consciously choose to see life from this perspective, and it will take some work.

Once you decide to see good everywhere you look and in everyone you see, even the worst of the worst of situations and people will begin to change in their relationship to you.  An old Nigerian proverb states, “The way I treat my brother is the way I treat myself.”  This is true because we are all one in Spirit.  Mentally holding my brother in contempt and judgment holds me in contempt and judgment as well, and I draw to myself a set of situations, circumstances and experiences that reflect that in my life.

This is the idea of having dominion.  As William Shakespeare’s Hamlet remarks, “There is nothing either good or bad, except thinking makes it so.”  Our thoughts and feelings are what create and populate our world with our experiences.  A victim mentality turns us into victims.  What happens in our experience of life happens through us, not to us.

The way we perceive things and the ways we perceive people is the way we judge the things and people that we come into contact with.  This is why the Master Teacher, Jesus taught with two very clear statements about judgment: “Judge not least ye be judged,” and “Judge ye not according to appearances, but judge with righteous judgment.”  In other words; because we are all one in Spirit, what you think about others must reflect in your life, and don’t get fooled by what you see in this physical world of effects, see God in all things and all people and no matter what the appearance is, the good will be revealed.

Inspired Affirmation of the Day – 12/28/08

I see the Love of God wherever I look, because I look at myself, I look at Life, and I live from the Spirit of Love within me.

Inspired Quote of the Day – 12/28/08

You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.

–Henry Drummond

Inspired Prayer Treatment of the Day – 12/28/08

Life is always giving of Itself to Itself and becoming Itself in all things.  This never ending activity is the Love of God in action.  I am an Infinite expression of the Eternal Love of God.  All that I see, hear, say and do is a reflection of the Spirit and Love of Life.  I love everyone and everything unconditionally, because I know that the Truth of everyone and everything everywhere is the Spirit of God.

I know that I live in and I am surrounded by a kind and loving Universe, that always gives to me as I give to myself; so, I am always kind, loving and supportive to me.  I embrace and embody this Truth now, giving thanks that my word has been heard and acted upon to produce Perfect Peace, Poise and Harmony in all of my affairs now.  I release my word and celebrate my good, knowing that it is done.  And so it is.

Learning to Love Unconditionally Part I

Part I of III: Why is it So Hard to Love?

1aa

Why is the idea of unconditional love so hard for most people to accept?

It’s a matter of perception. It is difficult to love anyone that has done something wrong to you. It is sometimes difficult to love someone who has done something wrong to someone you don’t even know.

When we perceive someone as having done wrong or hurtful things to us or to others, we begin to experience unfavorable emotions. Those emotions then become the basis of how we decide to think and feel about the wrongdoer in question, and subsequently how we behave towards them.

This means that for most people, the idea of loving others is conditional.  “I will love you as long as I feel good about everything you do.”  Is this idea reflective of the unconditional love we all receive from Spirit?  Does the idea of loving others based on conditions exemplify the teachings of any Spiritual philosophy that you know?  The answer to both of those questions is no.

Spirit, the Universe, Nature, God or whatever we choose to call it; or however we choose to recognize it, is always giving, always creating, always producing and always providing.  The air, water, and light we need is ever available.  Grass, trees and plants always grow.  These are facts that have been true since before the beginning of recorded history.  No matter what mankind, or any individual person does, Nature just keeps on giving, because God just keeps on loving.

At this point, you are probably feeling that it makes no sense for you to love someone who treats people poorly, or who has not been so kind to you.  But, as I said, it’s a matter of perception.

Inspired Affirmation of the Day – 12/27/08

I am filled with, surrounded by, and immersed in the constant, consistent, unconditional Love of God.

Inspired Quote of the Day – 12/27/08

Love is the grandest healing and drawing power on earth.

–Ernest Holmes

Inspired Prayer Treatment of the Day – 12/27/08

God is Love; the constant, consistent and unconditional givingness of Life to itself.  I am one with God; so, I am the Love of God in Perfect, Divine expression.  I love myself by affirming and knowing this truth about myself now.  Because I am one with God, I am one with all Life, and I give to myself by knowing the Truth about everyone, everywhere, at all times.

I consciously accept all that I am, all that I have, and all that I am given with Joy and gratitude.  God is my unfailing Supply of all I ever want, need or desire.  My word is a Perfect Law unto itself, and I am always well-provided.  I give thanks now, completely trusting the Law as It works in me, as me, through me and by means of me to turn my word to flesh.  I release my word, grateful that it is done now. And so it is.
